Maybe the question to ask should be: Why does this particular version add a verse that doesn't belong there? It's just as logical to say one translation has a missing verse as to say another translation has an added verse.

The approach this article takes assumes that it was God who gave us the verse numbering, but I don't see what evidence there is for that.
